Thank you for sharing, as I was also agitated. Even though I was a solo female traveler for a long time, I never understood why you couldn't have a relationship and travel lifestyle. Years later, I now travel full-time with my boyfriend, and we plan on having kids and continuing to travel.
When you complain about looking for icebergs at 4 in the morning, you miss seeing the Milky Way or if you're in another part of the world, seeing a volcanic island erupt.

Well, it was agitating. I don’t begrudge her her lifestyle, it’s just not the only way to do it.

Are naval vessels dark enough that you can really get the full view at night?
Yes. We darken ship at night and have red navigation lights.
I envy your children and the opportunities that will open to them—probably without them realizing what is happening and how fortunate they are.
